Statement
The practice of painting has increased my awareness of the grace and complexity of all things. I work in both oils and soft pastel and each work holds its own story. My intention is to inspire a sense of reverence and an appreciation of the sublime.

Biography
After having had a career as a classical and opera singer in Germany Barbara returned to America and began the study of fine art. Spending the first half of her life devoted to the art of song she is now immersed in her passion to paint.
Barbara has worked under the tutelage of several esteemed artists. She now resides and paints in a bucolic rural area in Pennsylvania. A signature member of the Maryland Pastel Society and the Philadelphia Watercolor Society, an associate member of the Oil Painters of America, American Women Artists, the Pastel Society of America, the International Association of Pastel Societies, and the Portrait Society of America, Barbara has received awards at local and national juried competitions and art shows.
Barbara teaches all levels of pastel painting in association with The Wayne Art Center, The Art Center at Ambler, and The Painter's Alliance.
